The WaterShed is operated by the City of Boise Public Works Department whose mission is to use our resources effectively and to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community leaving a legacy of enhanced quality of life for Boise. We require many types of jobs and employ people from a variety of different backgrounds, talents, skills, experiences and education.

Join the WaterShed Action TeamThe Watershed Action Team is a group of young people from Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley who are committed to water and climate education. They develop and support WaterShed programs over the summer, fall and spring. This is a paid position. Applications for 2026 are now closed. |
To qualify for the Watershed Action Team, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be between 15-18 years old during their term.
- Be interested in climate and water science.
- Can commit to required hours.*(see below)
- Have a desire to work on job and life skills.
- Have an interest in developing great communication skills.
- Be willing to be an enthusiastic team member.
*Members are expected to be available for training during the first week of June and to work 5 hours every Wednesday 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (except for the week of Independence Day) until schools are back in session in August.
Members will have the opportunity to work outside of required hours supporting numerous WaterShed programs. Additionally, members will have the opportunity to staff The WaterShed on Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Applications are typically open in March for the following summer. Applications are closed at this time.
