Hours and Pricing

Visit us Monday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Admission is always FREE for both the exhibit hall and river campus.

We're closed holidays and Sundays. (Holiday closures include New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, President's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.)

School groups are typically in the exhibit hall Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For a quieter experience, we recommend visiting on weekday afternoons or Saturdays.

For a positive visitor experience, guests must follow our Code of Conduct:

  • Please leave pets at home. Service animals welcome.
  • No food or beverage, other than water, in the exhibit hall.

The simulated river water feature is typically on mid-March through mid-October.

Getting Here

The WaterShed is located at 6411 N. Ancell Ave. in Boise, ID, near the intersection of Chinden Blvd. and Cloverdale Road. Use Entrance B (Ancell Avenue) to access The WaterShed.

Free parking is available in our visitor parking lot.

Bus Routes

Route 8X has a bus stop within walking distance to The WaterShed.

Bike the Greenbelt

There is no direct access to The WaterShed from the greenbelt. Bikers should exit the greenbelt at N. Garrett Street in Garden City and connect to Chinden Blvd., then turn on Joplin Road to get to The WaterShed. Bike parking is available in front of the education center.
